Belgium: The neo-Gothic former post office in Ghent has been converted in to a boutique hotel called 1898 The Post. In the Korenmarkt area, it features 38 rooms and suites, and is owned by Zannier Hotels.

The building in neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance style was erected for the 1913 World's Fair and features octagonal towers, stepped gables and an impressive 52-metre clock tower.

The former post-office building now houses a shopping centre, a supermarket and a breakfast eatery on the ground floor, and hotel rooms on the floors above.

Rooms are named to reflect the building's past and include The Envelope, The Letter and The Postcard. There is a meeting room that can host up to 10 people, and a cocktail bar called The Cobbler.
